After putting up with it for the past 7 years I had pretty much given up on any hope of being able to enjoy one of the more simple pleasures in life – a drink of my choice, with friends or family, perhaps simply to unwind after a long day or to compliment a nice meal at a restaurant. What an annoying curse this was.

I distinctly remember the first time I discovered that I couldnt drink alcohol – what a traumatic experience it was. I would have been about 18 years of age at the time. Being young and eager to socialize, I was naturally drawn into a circle of teenagers who regularly met up at parties and clubs to have fun, let loose and go crazy. Obviously, alcohol was a big part of this.

Bad Memories

I recall sitting with girl who I was quite fond of at the time. We had bought a bottle of the cheapest champagne money could buy and before I knew it we had drunk nearly half the bottle between us while laughing and talking in a circle of about 5 friends. This was the first time I had drunk alcohol and had absolutely no idea what would happen to me in the next 30 minutes.

My First Reaction

It began with my face. I started to feel the skin on my cheeks and forehead tighten and become slightly irritated. My breathing then became harder and I noticed a distinct wheeziness to each breath. I initially ignored all of these symptoms, but it wasn’t long before simply ignoring them no longer became an option.

The conversation stopped and all the eyes of everyone in the group were staring directly at me with shocked expressions on all of their faces. “Have a look in the mirror”, said the girl next to me.

I will never forget the embarrassment as I walked through a house full of staring teenagers to the bathroom. I was confronted by my symptoms for the first time. Panic!

Then the headache started. It was as if someone was relentlessly beating a drum between my ears that just would not stop. I curled up into a ball on the floor of the bathroom, shut my eyes and preyed that everything would go away. Unfortunately it didn’t, and I have been stuck with this reaction ever since. That is, until I was lucky enough to come across a method which enabled me to drink alcohol without experiencing any of the above-mentioned symptoms at all.

What Did I Do?

I can now enjoy a cold beer on a hot day, a glass of champagne at a celebration, and a stiff drink with my old man. I can have a drink whenever I want and not have to think twice about the chance of my alcohol allergy spoiling my good time.

How did this happen? I became fed up, admitted I had a problem and did something about it. It is as simple as that. When you admit that you have a problem you then open yourself up to the possibility of it being fixed. I never knew that there was something I could do! Why?

Because I was so embarrassed about my alcohol allergy that I was ignoring my problem rather than doing something about it.

I can confidently say that this was the best thing I could have done for my social life. Let’s face it, we all love to enjoy a drink or two to unwind, socialize and simply have fun. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it? Having fun?

I wish I was smart enough to have done something about it a lot earlier, but I am still grateful to have found a solution that has undoubtedly re-invigorated my social life and my willingness to enjoy myself and simply have a good time.

I would have been around the age of 18 when I found out that I had Asian flush. It was always hard to watch all my friends drinking alcohol and having fun. I wanted nothing more than to be a part of it all but whenever I drank alcohol my face would become red, swollen and very unattractive.

What a curse this was! I mean… why do you think we go out and socialize at bars and clubs? To meet people right? We go out to these places to socialize, to have fun, and if we’re lucky, to find someone who we can connect with and perhaps build a relationship with.

I felt like I was missing out on all the fun.

I’m sure you can understand my frustration. I used to spend hours trying to look my best before going out, only to have all of my efforts go down the drain once my Asian flush started to rear its ugly head – and it always did!

I reached the point where I simply gave up drinking with my friends altogether because of the embarrassment of experiencing my reaction in public.

But this didn’t help either! Let’s face it, alcohol plays an important role in the way we socialize and meet other people. It is, as they say, the great social lubricator and a tradition that is deeply ingrained in our way of life.

I was so embarrassed!

I couldn’t stand the feeling i’d get whenever I got my red face when drinking in public. I’d feel it starting with a tightening of my face and cheeks and then before I knew it my face would be flushed and swollen. I don’t mean to be overly superficial but it made me feel really unattractive and paranoid that everyone was looking at me.

People would often ask what was wrong with me and whether everything was ok. I would attract exactly the kind of attention that I wanted to avoid!

I had to do something about it.

It didn’t take me long to realized that my alcohol flushing was coming between me and a full, fun and exciting social life – and I had to do something about it, FAST! But did I? No…

Instead, I spent the next 5 years of my life in denial. I thought that my reaction would eventually go away over time as I grew older or more tolerant to the alcohol. Did it? No…

By this time I was 23 and working as a junior lawyer at a reputable legal firm in Melbourne. My social life was average so I decided to forget about my alcohol related problems and focus on my professional life. But guess what?

It started to affect my professional life!

Surprise, surprise, nearly everyone in the business world drinks alcohol. Whether it was client lunches, team building exercises, or out of work social gatherings, I simply could not turn my back on the ever present peer pressures to drink alcohol.

Let’s face it, drinking alcohol brings people together. It allows them to connect and get along in a way that is extremely important for relationship building in the professional world.

Not only did I feel excluded because of this, but I actually was excluded! The people at work would treat me differently because of my unsightly red face.

I don’t blame them, who would invite someone with red swollen face to an important business lunch where everyone would be drinking alcohol? It would be an embarrassment for the company.

Popping a herbal pill was not the solution.

Instead of just giving up and accepting that I couldn’t drink alcohol like all of my other friends and colleagues, I decided to go out and find a solution. I tried a plethora of remedies available on the internet, from liquid hangover shots to herbal pills specifically designed to treat Asian flush. But none of them worked for me.

Figure 1: Drinking beer after beer after using the No Red Face Formula whilst on holiday in Gent, Belgium.

Instead on relying on others to solve my problem I set out to solve it myself. I discovered a set of steps that I needed to follow in order to completely stop my flush from occurring. These steps ranged from specific daily supplement intake to certain preparatory procedures that I needed to do before I started drinking alcohol.

The beauty of having this proven method is that it meant I no longer had to search for a cure from the plethora of herbal manufacturers selling pills that fell short of their promises.

I had a method that I knew worked, every single time. I was so happy to finally have a way to drink alcohol and know for sure that I would not experience my Asian flush.

What did I do then?

Since discovering how to truly drink alcohol without flushing, I put my mind to forming a dedicated team to assist others in overcoming their disorder. To date we have helped over 2,150 people with their Asian flush. If you would like to find out more about how we can help you please see our article on how to prevent Asian flush or perhaps read more about our No Red Face Formula.

I had been a legal drinker for about 7 years before coming to terms with what I thought was an allergic reaction to alcohol. It saddened me that I could never enjoyed a cold beer on a hot day, a glass of champagne at a celebration, or a stiff drink with my old man. Why?

Because whenever I drank alcohol my face turned bright red, my neck broke into a sever rash, my body started to itch like crazy and I got a throbbing headache that made me want to curl up into a ball and die. Does this sound familiar?

What is an Alcohol Allergy?

Believe it or not but a true allergy to alcohol is very rare. Most people who experience allergy-like symptoms after consuming alcohol are statistically more likely to be suffering from Asian flush than any kind of allergy. Moreover, in the case of a true alcohol allergy, the reaction is usually brought about by an intolerance to a particular ingredient used in the manufacturing of the alcohol rather than the actual alcohol itself.

Common Allergens found in Alcohol

The following are some of the more common allergens used in the manufacturing processes of most alcoholic beverages:

gluten

wheat

egg or seafood protein

histamines and sulphites

rye

barley

yeast

hops

If you are allergic to any of the above ingredients then you should pay particular attention to the type of alcohol you are drinking. This is because they will vary greatly based on ingredients used in their manufacturing processes and will in dictate how severly they will affect your intolerance to any one particular ingredient.

Distinguishing Symptoms

It is important to know whether the symptoms you are experiencing are from a true alcohol allergy or some other genetic predisposition like Asian flush reaction. This is because there is very little you can do if you have a true alcohol allergy other than not drink, whereas if you have Asian flush there are many things you can do so you can drink alcohol without any of the unwanted symptoms. So how do you know?

The first thing you should do is consult with your medical practitioner. They know you best and should be able to let you know whether your intolerance is a result of a true allergy or a genetic enzymic deficiency in the case of Asian flush.

As a guide, a person with a true allergy to alcohol will most likely experience symptoms such as difficulty breathing, stomach cramps and total collapse after even the smallest sip of alcohol.

On the other hand, a person with Asian flush or alcohol flush reaction will most likely red flushing, nausea, throbbing headaches and a rapid heartbeart after more than just a tiny sip of alcohol.

If you think you might be in the second group read on to hear about my alcohol intolerance story.

Contrary to common belief, the Asian flush reaction is actually not an allergy. It is a genetic condition, also often referred to as alcohol flush reaction, and comes about as a result of our body’s reaction to a toxic metabolic byproduct of alcohol.

This toxic reaction occurs because of a genetic predisposition that causes an inhibited acetaldehyde dehydrogenase enzyme that is normally active in breaking down acetaldehyde, which is a bypoduct of alcohol metabolism.

According to a study conducted in 2007, nearly 40% of Japanese, Chinese and Korean drinkers have Asian flush. In addition to this, despite the racially specific name, this flushing can be experienced by people of all nationalities and is not exclusive to Asians.

Symptoms

The physical symptoms often occur 10 to 30 minutes after alcohol consumption. The first signs are a tightening sensation on one’s face, especially around the cheeks and eyes, accompanied by an increase in heart rate and mildly restricted breathing.

Figure 1: Asian male experiencing Asian flush.

These initial symptoms progress to a hot throbbing sensation accompanied by a red flushing of the skin around the face, neck and chest. Depending on the amount of alcohol consumed, physical symptoms have the potential of progressing to throbbing headaches, itchiness, hives, dizziness and nausea.

Many test subjects have also reported heightened social anxiety and a feeling of embarrassment when experiencing Asian flush in public. This anxiety can even cause the reaction to worsen and in turn form the basis for further anxiety to the point where some subjects have even reported wanting to “go home” whenever their reaction becomes unbearable.

Esophageal Cancer Risk

Research suggests that someone with Asian flush who consumes two beers a day has a ten-fold greater risk of developing esophageal cancer. Esophageal cancer is hard to detect and is one of the deadliest cancers in the world.

Despite this risk, alcohol consumption remains a common activity in most people’s social and professional lives. Responsible health practices would suggest that Asian flush sufferers should refrain from drinking on a regular basis and seek regular medical check ups to verify the non-existence of esophagael cancer.

Living With Asian Flush

Most people who have this disorder will tell you that it is both annoying and embarrassing to experience a red flushed face in public. Feedback from test subjects emphasises a desire for a way to control their symptoms and drink alcohol without experiencing, above all, an unpleasant and embarrassing red face.

Can you imagine an Asian fashion model or movie star start blushing red after a few sips of champaign? Of course not. The people in this business pride themselves on their physical appearance and spend huge amounts of time and money ensuring they are looking their best at all times – it’s their job after all.

So, with approximately 50% of Asian people suffering from the dreaded Asian glow, one might wonder how these fashion celebrities manage to keep their red blushing under control.

The Truth About How to Stop Asian Glow

The truth is, this problem can be easily prevented if you know what to do before drinking alcohol. It is important for you to understand that the blush is the result of a genetic enzyme deficiency that disrupts the normal metabolism of alcohol.

This disruption occurs as a result of our body’s failure to break down a toxic by-product of the alcohol metabolism process and thus subjects ourselves to various toxic reactions such as the red blush we all experience after drinking alcohol.

If you would like to know more about why this reaction happens you might be interested in reading our article about Asian flush.

Asian Glow Cures in the Fashion Industry

The reality is that around 50% of Asian people suffer from this genetic enzyme deficiency. This means that 50% of the Asian models and celebrities also suffer from this disorder, yet seem to be able to hide it very well.

We are aware of many Asian models using our breakthrough treatment program to eliminate the symptoms of their disorder. Whilst we do not for one second claim that all of the models and celebrities are using our exact formula, it is clear that they are all using something very similar.

Our Guarantee

Many people ask us why our satisfaction guarantee is so generous. The answer is simple – We have been using this guarantee since we started offering our product to the public and we rarely see anyone claiming the refund.

Why? Because it works exactly as it claims. Our product will allow you to drink alcohol without experiencing your Asian glow and other annoying symptoms such as headaches, itchiness, nausea, etc.
